Hmm, not bad, not bad. I think that you need more value in it though. Make the shadows darker and the highlights brighter. Squint at yourself in the mirror and see the contrast between the highlights and shadows on your face, that should give you a good idea :).

Also, don't be afraid to vary the colors a bit in the shadows. You can make them darker, sure, but you can also add a bit of red sometimes. It doesn't always look right for me when I do that, but I think that's my fault, lol.

Just go all crazy on it and spend a ton of time on coloring and you'll end up with something crazy awesome :D. As it is now, it's really good, I just think you can go further with it ^_^

thx for the advice. i was actually thinking the same thing about the shadows and highlights.
not bad man, but maybe it could some more tones?

don't cancel, I haven't finished rendering.
Looks nice, but try to use some more tones next time mate. It looks flat this way. Also please don't use blur tool like this, try to blend it in with lots of tones and not just blur it.
agreed with socsaint more shadow and maybe some lighting can enhance depth, nice piece
i used the Smudge Tool after i blended it with the Brush Tool
